Job summary

NOW CFO in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Construction Controller to join our consulting team. You will provide financial leadership for construction clients, overseeing accounting, job costing, and project-level reporting on active engagements.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of controller experience in construction, strong WIP expertise, and familiarity with construction ERP systems. This role requires onsite work with clients in the Austin area and offers a competitive compensation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Controller-level experience in the construction industry.
• Experience with job costing and WIP accounting.
• Knowledge of construction ERP systems (Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, Procore, Foundation or similar).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA a plus.
• Ability to work onsite with clients in the Austin, TX area.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting operations including month-end and year-end close.
• Manage job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and project-level financial tracking.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor and analyze project budgets, cost variances, and profitability.
• Manage subcontractor billing, lien waivers, and contract compliance.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Partner with project managers and executive leadership to provide financial visibility.
• Support bonding, banking, and audit relationships as needed.
