Job summary

Specialty Systems Inc. in Bloomington, Minnesota is seeking a hands-on Construction Controller to own the company’s accounting and financial reporting. You will work directly with the President/Owner to improve visibility into cash, job performance, margin, and risk.

The role requires leadership of the full accounting cycle, including AIA billing, job costing, and monthly close, with a focus on driving project profitability and company growth.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressive accounting experience with construction accounting responsibility.
• Experience with job costing and WIP reporting.
• Knowledge of AIA billing and cash flow management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full accounting cycle including AP/AR, GL, payroll oversight, and month-end close.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and project profitability analyses.
• Own construction accounting processes including AIA billing, job costing, revenue recognition, and change orders.
• Maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete reporting with variance analysis.
• Manage cash flow planning, treasury activity, and collections visibility.
