Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time construction trades experience or equivalent.
• Valid professional engineer or architect license or Site Safety Manager license.
• Sixty college credits in civil engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field.
• Apprentice program completion or related training; or equivalent experience.
• Eligibility for Assignment Level II/III/IV with required additional experience or degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical inspections of construction work for conformance with NYC Construction Codes, Department rules, and approved plans.
• Respond to accidents, incidents, and complaints; study drawings for inspection details.
• Issue violations, summonses and stop work orders; verify licenses of onsite workers.
• Explain and enforce laws; testify as needed in ECB, depositions, and court.
• Maintain records and reports; may supervise or train subordinates; operate a vehicle as needed.
