Job summary

My Client, a well-established commercial construction company, seeks an experienced CFO to join its leadership team and oversee financial health, reporting, and strategic guidance.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and project financial performance, partnering with PMs and operations to improve margins and risk management.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in construction accounting, deep expertise in WIP and %-of-completion, and proficiency with Vista by Viewpoint and Procore.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting or financial leadership experience in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting, job costing, WIP, and percent-of-completion accounting.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
• Experience working with banks, sureties, insurance providers, and outside CPA firms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions.
• Manage construction accounting, job costing, WIP, and percentage-of-completion reporting.
• Oversee project forecasting, cost-to-complete projections, gross margins, and project profitability.
• Partner with Project Managers to identify financial risks, cost overruns, and margin issues.
• Lead annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Monitor working capital, billing, collections, retainage, and overall liquidity.
• Maintain banking, bonding, insurance, CPA, and other external financial relationships.
• Lead and develop the accounting team.
• Provide ownership with timely financial analysis, reporting, and strategic recommendations.
• Help improve and integrate the company’s financial and construction technology systems.
