Description

Summary

The Construction Carpenter will build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and other materials to assist with various construction projects.

Essential Functions

• Measure, mark, and arrange materials based on blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Construct interior wall framing and partitions using materials such as light metal framing, wood studs, and steel.
• Cut and shape structures, forms, or fixtures from wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
• Hang wall coverings like drywall, cement panels, or wood paneling; drywall finishing is a plus.
• Use hand and power tools to build projects securely.
• Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
• Check the accuracy of work with levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares and correct issues as needed.
• Create wooden forms for concrete pouring or tunnel, bridge, or sewer projects.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding.
• Install windows, doors, and hardware.
• Follow local building and safety codes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
