Job summary

County of Santa Cruz is seeking an experienced procurement professional to join the General Services Department and provide dedicated support to the Central Purchasing Team, focusing on capital projects and construction solicitations.

The ideal candidate will have public-sector procurement experience, ability to coordinate with subject matter experts and leadership, and a track record of ethical, customer-focused service throughout scoping to contract award.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience performing duties comparable to a Buyer at Santa Cruz County.
• Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License.
• Knowledge of centralized purchasing, contract development and negotiations, and competitive bidding for public agencies.

Responsibilities

• Support Central Purchasing Team in soliciting capital projects and construction procurements.
• Develop scopes, run walkthroughs, and facilitate equitable public procurement processes for large-scale solicitations.
• Coordinate with subject matter experts and County leadership through scoping to contract award.
• Provide vendor outreach and support and deliver excellent customer service.
