Job summary

Clark Construction Company is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to help grow field leadership capacity on commercial construction projects across Michigan, with a focus on Southeast and Central Michigan.

The role supports the Superintendent by coordinating daily site operations, maintaining schedule adherence, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met through close collaboration with trade partners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a Superintendent or similar field role.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management or Civil Engineering or related field.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating short-term (2-4 week) jobsite activities and communicate plans with trade contractors.
• Support development and maintenance of the project schedule, including three-week lookahead planning.
• Monitor and support contractor performance to ensure alignment with project timelines and requirements.
• Help facilitate timely approvals and documentation with architects, engineers, and governing authorities.
• Uphold jobsite safety, quality, environmental standards, and cleanliness at all times.
• Assist with project close-out and ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards.
• Maintain detailed daily reports documenting site activity, progress, and key events.
• Track labor hours and submit trade hours and labor reports as required.
• Participate in and help lead onsite coordination and progress meetings.
