Job summary

Clark College in Michigan seeks an Assistant Superintendent to support the Superintendent in coordinating daily site operations for commercial construction projects across Southeast and Central Michigan. This role offers hands-on development opportunities and will involve close collaboration with trade partners to meet safety and quality standards.

The position emphasizes short‑term planning, schedule maintenance, and effective communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a Superintendent or similar field role
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field
• Strong planning, scheduling, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate short‑term (2–4 week) jobsite activities and communicate plans with trade contractors
• Support development and maintenance of the project schedule, including three‑week lookahead planning
• Monitor and support contractor performance to ensure alignment with timelines and requirements
• Facilitate timely approvals and documentation with architects, engineers, and governing authorities
• Uphold jobsite safety, quality, environmental standards, and cleanliness at all times
• Assist with project close‑out and ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards
• Maintain detailed daily reports documenting site activity, progress, and key events
• Track labor hours and submit trade hours and labor reports as required
• Participate in and help lead onsite coordination and progress meetings
