Job summary

Clark College in Southeast Michigan seeks an Assistant Superintendent to support the field leadership for commercial construction projects. You will assist the on-site superintendent, coordinate daily operations, and ensure schedule adherence while maintaining communication with trade partners.

The role offers hands-on experience in short-term planning, safety leadership, quality control, and project closeout, with growth toward a Superintendent position within a collaborative, safety-focused

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a Superintendent or similar field role.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating short-term (2–4 week) jobsite activities and communicate plans with trade contractors.
• Support development and maintenance of the project schedule, including three-week lookahead planning.
• Monitor and support contractor performance to ensure alignment with project timelines and requirements.
• Help facilitate timely approvals and documentation with architects, engineers, and governing authorities.
• Uphold jobsite safety, quality, environmental standards, and cleanliness at all times.
• Assist with project close-out and ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards.
• Maintain detailed daily reports documenting site activity, progress, and key events.
• Track labor hours and submit trade hours and labor reports as required.
• Participate in and help lead onsite coordination and progress meetings.
