Job summary

FCL Builders is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Itasca, IL to support project teams from pre-construction through closeout. You will help manage scheduling, subcontractor coordination, permitting, and documentation across commercial and industrial projects.

The role emphasizes collaboration with project leaders, ensuring constructability, budgets, and timely delivery while advancing your construction career with a supportive ESOP-enabled culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of experience in commercial/industrial construction.
• OSHA 30 and SWPPP training (or in progress).
• Strong understanding of building codes, safety standards, and construction best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project; CMiC or Viewpoint a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager throughout the entire project lifecycle, from pre-con to closeout.
• Help manage day-to-day construction operations on commercial and industrial projects.
• Support scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and permitting.
• Review plans, specs, and shop drawings for compliance and constructability.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings and weekly project updates.
• Ensure timely ordering, tracking, and delivery of materials.
• Help oversee contract execution, change orders, RFIs, and document management.
