Job summary

CM & Associates Construction Management in New York seeks a full-time Technical Specialist to perform take-offs, prepare bid packages, and maintain bid lists. You will support the Project Manager with award recommendations and work with the estimating team to buy out construction trades.

The role requires 1–3 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in construction-related fields, with proficiency in MS Office, Project, Blue Beam, and Procore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture.
• 1-3 years of full-time experience as a technical specialist in construction/design fields.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Project, Blue Beam and Procore.

Responsibilities

• Perform take offs, create and issue bid packages, and maintain the bid list.
• Assist the Project Manager by compiling information for award recommendations.
• Buyout construction trades with estimating and project team.
• Review and comment on scopes and bid proposals.
• Prepare and manage Letters of Recommendation and Letters of Intent.
• Generate, review, and manage logs for RFIs, Submittals, and Change Orders.
• Manage logs such as long lead, insurance, permits, inspections, etc.
• Collaborate with PM to issue meeting minutes for sub, OAC, field meetings.
• Obtain proposals from subcontractors for changes and change orders.
• Coordinate RFIs and Submittals with field superintendents and trade subcontractors.

• Assist the Project Manager by compiling all the information required to make award recommendations.
• Work with the estimating and project team to buyout the Construction Trades.
• Review and comment on scopes and bid proposals
• Prepare and manage Letters of Recommendation and Letters of Intent
• Generate, review, and manage logs for all RFI's, Submittals, and Change Orders
• Manage all other pertinent logs such as long lead, insurance, permits, inspections, etc.
• Work with the PM to compose and issue meeting minutes for sub, OAC, field meetings.
• Obtain and analyze proposals from subcontractors for potential changes and change orders
• Coordinate RFI's and Submittals with field superintendents and trade sub-contractors

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture
• 1-3 years of full-time experience as a technical specialist in one or more construction and design related fields
• Must be proficient in typical construction project software including MS Office, Project, Blue Beam and Procore

Must possess unquestionable personal integrity and a superior reputation.
