The Position:

The Construction Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for providing high-quality project management services by maintaining a deep understanding of all aspects of the project, regardless of its scope or size. You'll maintain strong client relationships to ensure the company is positioned as a true partner in helping bring their vision into reality, while serving as the primary point of contact for all communication.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Interpret landscape, architectural, structural, and civil drawings and blueprints with accuracy.
  • Maintain daily project logs and updates, including detailed entries with dates to track progress and key activities.
  • Builds positive working relationships within the corporate organization and serves as a point-of-contact for broader company initiatives.
  • Coordinate with other departments with estimating, drafting, purchasing, billing, shop, installation, finishing, and close outs, as required.
  • Improves and develops organization capabilities through effective performance management and planning/utilization of human and capital resources.
  • Maintains customer relationships continuously throughout the project as well as by making weekly/monthly visits as customer availability and schedule allows.
  • Seeks out and secures viable opportunities through which Renfrow can further its interests in any given region or area of concern.
  • Coordinates efforts across the entire project between architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs and expectations.
  • Prepares project schedules and continually reviews to make sure the project schedule is adhered to or modified as necessary.
  • Assist with developing strategies to increase productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, and employee effectiveness/satisfaction/recognition.
  • Assesses current material availability, prepares and processes purchase orders and procurement of materials.
  • Assist with determining needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
  • Periodically inspects work in progress for quality and accuracy, (i.e., fabrication, finishing).
  • Provides day-to-day management of activities by giving work directions, resolving problems, preparing schedules, and setting deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and prepares field reports, profit & loss records, and directives that measure productivity or goal achievement or identify areas needing cost reduction or improvement.
  • Trained to review projects to monitor compliance with construction and safety codes or other regulations.
  • Prepares estimates and change order proposals on current projects.
  • Provide weekly updates on tasks across all digital platforms.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in related field required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or Construction Management is a plus.
  • 2+ years' experience in construction and/or related field.
  • Previous experience structural steel erection/steel fabrication is a plus.
  • Proficiency in construction software's and Microsoft Office products.
  • OSHA 30 certified and PMP certification are a plus.
  • Steel Erection Safety Certified a plus.
  • Knowledge in AWS D1.1 (America Welding Society) .

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Staying up to date with industry standards.
  • Effective decision-making and diligence.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Ability to take initiative.
