Gorman & Company is seeking a Construction Assistant to support the Maritime Lofts project in Manitowoc, WI. This hands-on role focuses on assisting the Field Superintendent with daily site tasks, maintaining an organized jobsite, and ensuring safety and progress on a 59-unit multifamily development set for completion in 2028.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic construction math.
• Willingness to learn and participate in hands-on field tasks.
• Strong communication and teamwork with supervisors and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Field Superintendent with daily construction tasks and general labor.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe jobsite; manage housekeeping and site security.
• Assist with receiving, inspecting, organizing, and tracking materials and equipment deliveries.
• Support field measurements, layout verifications, and quantity tracking as directed.
• Identify potential quality or schedule issues and communicate findings to the team.
• Support safety by assisting with daily inspections and PPE usage, and report unsafe conditions.
• Document progress with photos and field observations; help complete punch lists.
