Job summary

The Thrasher Group is seeking a Construction & Materials Testing Specialist to join our growing team in a hybrid role. This position involves field testing and construction inspection across a range of projects, ensuring quality and compliance.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of relevant experience, testing experience, and safety certifications. OSHA 10, First Aid, CPR and ACI/WVDOH certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction inspection or material testing.
  • Testing experience with materials is highly desirable.

  • ACI or WVDOH testing certifications highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sampling and field testing on construction materials including concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and soil.
  • Interpret civil construction plans and specifications.
  • Monitor construction progress for adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Maintain detailed records of project quantities, daily reports, and changes.
  • Keep accurate redline and as-built drawings to document project modifications.
  • Communicate findings through written reports and facilitate information flow among stakeholders.
  • Ensure quality standards are met and prevent defects.
  • Adapt to varying job sites and schedules, including night shifts.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Construction & Materials Testing Specialist to join our growing team. This hybrid role combines material testing and construction inspection responsibilities, ensuring quality and compliance across a diverse range of projects. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform sampling and field testing on construction materials including concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and soil
  • Interpret civil construction plans and specifications
  • Monitor construction progress, adherence to plans, and compliance with specifications
  • Maintain detailed records of project quantities, daily reports, and changes
  • Keep accurate redline and as‑built drawings to document project modifications
  • Communicate findings through written reports and facilitate information flow among all project stakeholders
  • Ensure quality standards are met and proactively prevent construction defects
  • Adapt to varying job site locations and schedules, including night shift assignments
  • Travel to project sites as needed, including periodic extended stays
  • Complete certification courses to continuously build skills and technical knowledge
  • Willingness to support other divisions and take on additional roles as workload demands
What You’ll Bring

Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction inspection or material testing

Testing experience: Material testing experience highly desirable

Safety certifications: OSHA 10, First Aid, and CPR certifications preferred

Technical certifications: ACI or WVDOH testing certifications highly desirable
