Job summary

The Bolton Group in Goldsboro, NC is seeking an Accounting Manager to own the month-end close, drive GAAP-compliant reporting, and build scalable accounting processes as the business grows.

This leadership role requires strong technical accounting, project accounting experience, and the ability to lead a small team while partnering with operations and project managers to improve financial visibility and control.

Qualifications

• Strong GAAP accrual accounting experience.
• Experience with project accounting, WIP, and revenue recognition.
• Background in construction, contracting, or related fields preferred.
• Public accounting exposure to construction clients is a plus.
• Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
• Ability to build processes and lead a small accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process and GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
• Manage WIP schedules and % of completion revenue recognition.
• Monitor project costs, profitability, and revenue recognition.
• Develop and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Oversee cash-flow forecasting and working capital management
• Partner with project managers and operations to improve financial visibility.
• Strengthen inventory accounting and reporting processes.
• Standardize workflows to support growth and acquisitions.
