Powers & Sons Construction in Gary, IN is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead the accounting function for construction projects. The role covers full-cycle accounting, job costing, AIA billings, and month-end close, with collaboration across project teams and operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction accounting, strong communication skills, and experience with ProCore and Jonas Accounting. This is a full-time on-site opportunity in Gary, Indiana.

Qualifications

• CPA preferred and strong GAAP knowledge.
• Minimum 5+ years in accounting, construction experience preferred.
• Experience leading accounting functions and cross-team collaboration.
• Excellent communication with non-finance stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and strong process discipline.
• Proficiency in Excel and construction finance tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead core accounting functions for the company and ensure timely reporting.
• Oversee month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Manage job costing, retainage, AIA billings, and change orders.
• Coordinate with project teams on billing and cost forecasting.
• Support auditors and maintain internal controls.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and budgeting support.
• Support ProCore and Jonas accounting modules implementation.
