Job summary

Paycom - ATS in California seeks a Construction Accounting Manager to manage capital project accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cost control in compliance with GAAP and Tribal standards.

The role is a sole-contributor position partnering with project teams to provide timely financial reporting, contract compliance, and cost-to-complete analyses for multiple projects. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential as you support audits and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in accounting or related field.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Minimum 5 years in construction accounting for a construction firm, project accounting, or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Review, validate, and process contractor, subcontractor, and consultant pay applications.
• Monitor and reconcile Schedule of Values to align billed amounts with budgets and progress.
• Calculate, track, and reconcile retention balances per contract requirements and regulations.
• Review and process change orders with proper approvals and financial impact analysis.
• Maintain records of contract commitments, project costs, pending change orders, retainage, and payment status.
• Support audits with organized documentation and timely responses.
• Provide monthly and annual financial statements and budget-to-actual analyses.
