Job summary

Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians is seeking a Construction Accounting Manager to oversee capital project accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and compliance with GAAP and Tribal Minimum Internal Control Standards.

This role is a sole contributor and collaborates with project stakeholders to provide financial oversight and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in related field (or equivalent experience).
• Seven (7) years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction accounting working for a construction firm, project accounting, or a closely related field.
• Must pass periodic random drug screens, background checks, Tribal Gaming License, and eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Review, validate, and process contractor, subcontractor, and consultant pay applications.
• Verify supporting documentation for payment requests, including lien waivers and payroll reports.
• Monitor and reconcile Schedule of Values (SOV) to ensure billed amounts align with budgets and contracts.
• Calculate, track, and reconcile retention balances.
