Job summary

Zohorecruit is recruiting an Accounting Manager for a leading California-based construction organization. The role partners with the Corporate Controller and leads day-to-day accounting, ensuring accurate WIP reporting, job costing, and strong internal controls.

The position emphasizes GAAP compliance, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and collaboration with presidents, project managers, and staff to drive reliable financial reporting and timely closings.

Qualifications

• 7+ years progressive accounting experience, including 4+ years construction accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience with a general contractor or project-based construction.
• Strong GAAP knowledge including ASC 606 and WIP reporting.
• Hands-on ownership of month-end close and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP).

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting and financial close for assigned operating companies.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff; ensure deadlines and accuracy.
• Coordinate with Corporate Controller and leadership on accounting issues.
• Oversee WIP, job cost reporting, and revenue recognition per ASC 606.
• Ensure ERP setup, cost coding, and project billing accuracy.
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations; assist external auditors.
