Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking an Accountant-BLD to apply accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare reports.

The role supports budgets and costs, with responsibilities across month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting for multiple departments. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, 3–5 years of related experience, and strong analytical and communication skills. CPA preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
• Three to five years of related experience and/or training.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to accurately and efficiently process and record large volumes of data.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare House Profit Analyses and review gross profit margins for each sales contract.
• Review job costs for budget variances, cost code errors, and other posting errors on invoices and resolve with proper departments.
• Conduct monthly close procedures and ensure that deadlines are met.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Post bank deposits and create related cash receipt journals.
