The role offers a hybrid schedule (2 days in office, 3 remote) in LA, base salary $85,000-$95,000 plus a holiday bonus, and a monthly vehicle allowance. You will manage AR/AP, bank draws, job costing, lien waivers, payroll, COI, and more.

Pay Rate: $85,000-$95,000 base salary (based on experience), plus a holiday bonus scaled to tenure

Overview

For three decades, this family-owned Los Angeles builder has done exactly one thing: custom, high-end residential homes - no commercial, no multi-family, no exceptions. That focus has built a reputation strong enough that the company barely has to advertise; work comes through referrals from clients and architects who know the name. Right now, with more than a dozen custom homes moving through design and construction at once, the firm is ready to bring on a dedicated Construction Accountant to own the financial side of the business full-time.

This is a rare kind of opportunity: a true "build it and own it" seat. The project management and ownership team have been splitting accounting duties between them for as long as they could make it work, and it's time to hand the function to a specialist. The Construction Accountant will work directly with the firm's leadership and project managers, taking full ownership of the books for a growing, high-volume custom home operation.

What the role will own:

• AR/AP invoicing and full-cycle contract administration across a portfolio of concurrent custom home builds
• Bank draw submittals and construction loan documentation
• Job costing and cost tracking at the individual project level
• Lien waiver collection, tracking, and subcontractor compliance
• Managing subcontractor agreements, W-9 collection, and 1099 preparation
• Weekly payroll processing
• Insurance certificate (COI) tracking and reporting
• Partnering closely with the project management team to keep billing, cost coding, and draws moving in step with each build's timeline

The Construction Accountant will work primarily in a modern, cloud-based construction management platform (the firm provides training - no prior experience with this specific system required), with QuickBooks experience considered a strong plus given the accounting fundamentals it builds. Strong Excel skills round out the toolkit. This role reports directly into the firm's project leadership and has real room to grow into a more senior position as the company continues to scale.

• Base salary: $85,000-$95,000, based on experience
• Holiday bonus, scaled to length of time with the company
• Schedule: hybrid - typically 2 days in-office, 3 remote (flexible arrangements available), with a short workday (9:00 AM-3:00/4:00 PM depending on commute)
