Job summary

ENGICON CM in Los Angeles seeks a senior Construction Administrator/Project Manager to define scopes, review schedules, and lead constructability reviews for large public and educational facilities. You will coordinate multiple design disciplines, implement value engineering, and manage submittals and change orders.

The role requires extensive experience in construction administration, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Word/Excel and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• 15 years of full-time professional paid experience with an Architecture degree; 10 years in Construction Administration and 5 years as Designer
• Construction Administrator experience on public/educational facilities with $8M+ single project or $80M+ combined value
• Alternative path: 15 years as Project Superintendent/Project Manager on large public/commercial projects with $30M+ single project and $400M+ total value
• Two years of college coursework plus five years experience may substitute for the educational requirement
• Proficient in RFC writing, submittal review and handling change orders
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and Bluebeam

Responsibilities

• Assist in defining and reviewing the Project Requirements Document scope and schedule, including interim housing requirements
• Provide value engineering recommendations at the design outset
• Comment on design deliverables to identify inconsistencies and errors to reduce RFIs and Change Orders
• Coordinate documents between design disciplines
• Prepare comprehensive constructability reviews of pre-bid construction documents
• Coordinate efforts with Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative
• Perform other duties as assigned

Position Description:

• Assists in defining and reviewing the Project Requirement Document scope of work and schedule including interim housing requirements
• Makes value engineering recommendations at the outset of the design
• Comments on the design professional’s deliverable identifying inconsistencies, ambiguities, conflicts, errors and omissions in the progress plans to reduce RFIs and Change Orders
• Ensure documents are coordinated between design disciplines.
• Prepares comprehensive constructability review of pre-bid construction documents
• Coordinates the above efforts with the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative in a collaborative way
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• 15 years’ full-time professional paid experience with an Architecture degree and the following:
  A. 10 of those years must be acting as a Construction Administrator
  B. 5 years remaining must be acting as a Designer.
  C. Construction Administrator experience shall be on a public/educational facility construction project with full responsibility for supporting those projects.
  D. Projects shall have a construction value of $8M or more for a single project or with a combined cumulative project value of $80M.

OR

• 15 years full-time paid professional experience as a Project Superintendent or Project Manager on a public/educational facility construction and/or large commercial projects with full responsibility for coordinating complex projects with construction value of a single project in excess of $30M with a combined cumulative project value of $400M.

• Minimum of two (2) years of college-level coursework from a recognized college, university, or trade school, and five (5) years additional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.

• Proficiency in computer programs (MS Word, MS Excel, etc.), including Bluebeam
