Job summary

Southland Industries, Inc. is seeking a Constructability Lead to oversee the constructability phase of projects, partnering with internal departments and external customers to ensure standards are implemented through detailing, coordination and model integration.

You will drive timely incorporation of constructability knowledge, lead trade coordination, manage resources and budgets, and build strong client relationships while promoting modular construction practices and Connected Solutions where

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 6 years of related experience, including project/people management
Field Foreman/General Foreman preferred
Proficient verbal and written communication skills
Ability to write, edit and proofread content
Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents
Current knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal trades and field installation methods
Strong attention to detail
Ability to coordinate projects
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Ability to interpret the Construction Schedule to integrate a design pull schedule
Ability to train less experienced Detailers
Ability to direct the workflow of less experienced Detailers
Working knowledge of Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD

Responsibilities

Leads constructability on assigned projects.
Partners with the design and modeling group to incorporate constructability knowledge to minimize model rework.
Leads communication between project team members to ensure a successful product.
Provides material, content and feedback to applicable team members.
Leads final trade coordination and sign-off with the General Contractor.
Contributes to design pull schedule to direct model development to meet deliverables.
Manages resources assigned to the project.
Participates in conceptual design efforts to promote modular construction and constructability standards.
Manages budget and project costs.
Builds relationships with clients.
Ensures Connected Solutions where applicable.
