Pennsylvania House Democratic Caucus is seeking an on-site Administrative Assistant to assist a district office member with a broad range of constituent services. You will respond to inquiries via multiple channels, prepare correspondence reflecting the Member's position, and manage office workflows and calendars.
The role requires strong MS Office skills, familiarity with Indigov and PennDOT Tracking System, and the ability to coordinate with Harrisburg staff and local partners.
Assists Member in the District Office by providing a variety of administrative and governmental services for constituents.
This position is 100% onsite and is not eligible for Telework.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus a certificate/degree in office/clerical skills from a college or business/technical school; or one year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to complete tasks in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint), Legislative Data Processing Center, and Indigov (constituent tracking system) software applications on a desktop computer system. Prior knowledge of Indigov or the Legislative Data Processing Center system is not required.
Ability to read, analyze, interpret and compose general business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from superiors, constituents, and the general public. Ability to effectively communicate with the public. Ability to converse fluently in a secondary language is a plus.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to get along with others and work effectively as a team player; ability to concentrate for extended periods of time.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
