Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is seeking a CPS Conservatorship Worker (CPS CVS Spec I) in Galveston, TX. This role handles cases when children are removed and placed under CPS conservatorship, coordinating services to achieve safe permanency for children.

New hires with a Master’s in Social Work may qualify for higher starting pay. DFPS offers a Certification Program to develop skills and advance careers within the agency.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and family dynamics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Willingness to travel and attend visits after 5pm.
• Ability to work in emotionally charged environments.

Responsibilities

• Receive cases from investigators after children are removed and placed in CPS conservatorship.
