  • Attending meetings with regulatory agencies, clients, and teaming partners
  • Writing and reviewing technical documents, such as mitigation bank prospectuses, bank enabling instruments, conservation easements, endowment funding agreements, development and long-term management plans, memos, and ad hoc deliverables tailored specifically to meet client needs.
  • Supporting your team leader with staff development and team activities
Requirements for this role:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in ecology, biology, environmental science or other related discipline; master’s degree is a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience

The following skills and mindsets are also needed in order to succeed in this role:
  • A growth mindset and strong desire to learn new things
  • The ability to operate autonomously and to be a self-starter while at other times be able to collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders, internally and externally.
  • Be passionate about conservation and market based solutions to environmental challenges
  • Be excited about working on large, complex multi-disciplinary projects
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; we’re looking for someone who jumps in to hairy technical problems when necessary
  • Entrepreneurial and a strong ownership mentality
  • Experience in aquatic resources and endangered species permitting and mitigation in California, mitigation bank entitlement, implementation of conservation programs, valuation of ecosystem services, or project development for environmental markets
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential to this position
  • Strong writing, document review and editing skills
  • Competency in preparing or managing technical work products (e.g., wetland delineations, ecosystem services valuations, environmental market analyses, rare plant surveys, habitat assessments, biological resources technical reports, Excel and other database work, GIS maps and analyses completed by others)
  • Skilled and proactive in outreach, with a desire to be a positive face of the company to a diverse group of stakeholders including clients, regulatory agencies and potential teaming partners
