Job summary

NYC Parks in the Bronx is seeking a Community Coordinator to supervise the Bronx River Conservation Crew and oversee both full-time and seasonal staff. You will coordinate with community partners, develop planting plans, and lead volunteer engagement efforts to protect and rejuvenate local public spaces.

The role emphasizes ecological and river management, strong communication, and collaboration with city agencies to support District 14 initiatives and diverse community programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in ecological and river management preferred.
• Experience supervising conservation projects.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid New York State driver license required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Bronx River Conservation Crew and staff.
• Monitor performance and schedule of crew and interns; track attendance.
• Develop maps and planting plans with partners and volunteers.
• Attend meetings and implement safety and procedure improvements.
• Maintain tools and equipment inventory and advise on purchases.
• Lead education and outreach activities engaging volunteers and the public.
