FPC Franchise in Bedford/Boston area seeks a Practice Director for Connected Systems to guide large, software‑intensive medical device programs from concept through FDA submission, bridging engineering and business strategy.

You will lead cross‑functional teams across software, systems, cloud, cybersecurity, and regulatory affairs; shape standards, mentor engineers, expand strategic accounts, and build trusted client partnerships in a dynamic consulting environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years developing medical devices or regulated healthcare products with software and systems complexity
• Director/Senior Director/ VP-level technical leadership experience
• Proven success leading large cross-functional product development programs
• Strong systems thinking and architectural judgment
• Experience leading software-intensive or platform-oriented development efforts
• Strong executive presence and client-facing communication skills
• Ability to combine technical leadership with sound business judgment
• Experience building and growing strategic client relationships

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical and delivery leader for major client programs
• Lead architecture, system design, and key engineering decisions across complex multidisciplinary programs
• Partner with Program Managers on scope, budget, schedule, risk, and delivery
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders from engineering leadership through executive teams
• Lead cross-functional teams across systems, software, cloud, cybersecurity, human factors, mechanical, electrical, and V&V disciplines
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, compliant product designs suitable for regulated environments and FDA submission
• Identify client needs and help develop additional opportunities within existing accounts
• Translate strong delivery into long-term partnerships and account growth
• Contribute to account strategy, proposal development, and solution design
• Balance technical excellence, client satisfaction, delivery discipline, and business growth
• Serve as Practice Director for Connected Systems, define and promote technical standards
• Mentor engineers and emerging technical leaders
• Help strengthen reputation as a leader in software, systems, and regulated product development
