Job summary

The Village at Orchard Ridge, part of National Lutheran Communities & Services, seeks a full-time Connected Living (Activities) Coordinator to create engaging programs for residents and coordinate a range of recreational and social activities. You will lead fitness, arts, games, education, and community events in a supportive senior living environment.

Ideal candidates are energetic, creative, and passionate about enriching older adults' lives, with strong organizational and communication skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.
• 1-2 years experience in activities, recreation, hospitality, senior living, healthcare, or related field preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage schedules and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and lead engaging activities, events, and programs for residents.
• Facilitate a variety of experiences including fitness classes, arts and crafts, games, educational programs, discussion groups, gardening, music and social gatherings.
• Encourage resident participation while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
• Assist with special events, holiday celebrations, outings, and themed programs.
• Create and distribute activity calendars, newsletters, flyers, and resident communications.
• Collaborate with nursing, dining, and other departments to enhance resident experiences.
• Maintain records related to program participation and activity planning.
• Support community engagement efforts that promote connection, purpose, and lifelong learning.
