Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP is seeking a Conflicts Attorney – Client Terms to advise on engagement letters, outside counsel guidelines, and other client terms, helping the firm secure practical, mutually acceptable agreements while protecting its interests.

The ideal candidate is an experienced attorney with strong negotiation and risk management skills who can navigate complex client requirements, collaborate across a global organization, and balance legal considerations with commercial

Qualifications

• J.D. with an active license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of legal practice experience in a law firm or professional services.
• 2+ years in compliance, risk management, or contract-focused work.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating client-drafted contracts or engagement terms.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze client engagement terms, including outside counsel guidelines and NDAs.
• Advise on legal, commercial, operational, and risk implications.
• Lead or support negotiations with clients and attorneys.
• Identify risks and collaborate with SMEs and General Counsel on solutions.
• Review changes to standard terms and advise on exceptions.
• Serve as risk/compliance resource for questionnaires and RFPs.
• Provide guidance to Conflicts Attorneys and Analysts.
• Develop and improve negotiation strategies and workflows.
• Ensure terms and commitments are documented in an auditable manner.
• Monitor regulatory developments and update policies and practices.
• Lead or support projects in risk, compliance, or contract tech.
