Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP is seeking a Conflicts Attorney – Client Terms to advise on engagement letters, outside counsel guidelines, and related client terms, helping the firm reach practical, mutually acceptable agreements while protecting its interests. The ideal candidate has a J.D.

with an active U.S. license and 5+ years of legal practice, plus strong contract negotiation, risk management, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• J.D. with active U.S. license and bar admission.
• 5+ years of legal practice in a law firm or professional services environment.
• 2+ years in compliance, risk management, or contract‑focused work.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating client terms and engagement letters.

Responsibilities

• Review client engagement terms, outside counsel guidelines, NDAs, and related agreements.
• Advise on legal, commercial, operational and risk implications of client terms.
• Lead or support negotiations with clients and attorneys.
• Identify risks and collaborate with subject matter experts and GC on solutions.
• Review changes to engagement terms and advise on deviations.
• Provide guidance to conflicts attorneys and analysts on complex terms.
• Develop and improve negotiation workflows and documentation practices.
• Ensure terms and commitments are documented and auditable.
• Monitor legal developments and update policies and processes.
• Lead or support risk, compliance or contract management projects.
