Responsibilities

• Conduct timely, accurate conflict searches for preliminary requests, new matters, and new clients.
• Review and validate information submitted to the department, including new business submissions and preliminary conflict checks.
• Maintain and update conflicts database and ensure data integrity.
• Prepare conflict reports and assist with intake of new clients and matters.
• Identify potential conflicts of interest and determine when an ethical wall may be required.
• Liaise with attorneys and business representatives by telephone and email.

The Team

We are seeking a Conflicts Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in a legal or law firm environment, with conflicts experience preferred. Reporting to the Director of Conflicts, this role supports the firm's conflicts process by conducting database searches for potential conflicts, analyzing and validating results, preparing conflict reports, maintaining the integrity of the conflicts database, and assisting with the intake of new clients and matters.

• Maintain and update conflicts database
• Follow departmental guidelines related to conflict check submissions and conflicts clearance procedures.
• Add relevant party aliases and synonyms to the conflicts database and conflict memoranda.
• Ensure all parties listed on conflict checks are identified using complete and accurate legal names.
• Confirm client or matter ownership through research or by communicating with the request submitter.
• Identify potential conflicts of interest and determine when an ethical wall may be required.
