QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Four-year college degree, with a preferred major in a related field, i.e. Hotel Management, Business or Marketing, or 2 years prior experience in Catering & Conference Services.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in conference and catering services management, preferably in the luxury hospitality industry.
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in event planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage complex budgets and provide cost-effective solutions.
  • Dedication to delivering outstanding service and exceeding client expectations.
  • A valid Driver’s License is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Proficiency in event administrative work to include banquet event orders, diagrams, and service agreements, along with a solid understanding of luxury hotel and resort operations.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES: This role requires the ability to be on your feet for extended periods and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

  • Flexibility: Embrace a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Punctuality: Consistently arrive on time, presenting yourself in a professional and well-groomed manner.
  • Professional Appearance: Maintain a clean and polished appearance in accordance with our uniform and grooming standards.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in all mandatory training and safety courses, as well as attend departmental meetings.
  • Event Coordination: Oversee all aspects of conference groups booked by the Sales Department and all assigned inquiries for social catering day events.
  • Revenue Optimization: Finalize event requirements, maximizing revenue through upselling and maintaining effective communication with all hotel departments.
  • Client Liaison: Serve as a liaison between clients and hotel departments, supervising the setup and execution of planned banquet event orders.
  • Billing Accuracy: Verify the accuracy of banquet bills and conduct bill reviews upon event completion.
  • Event Supervision: Supervise the execution of banquet events, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Meetings & Collaboration: Plan, attend, and participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients.
  • Service Excellence: Uphold the highest standards of service and professionalism, fostering positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Problem Solving: Address challenges and unexpected issues promptly.
  • Communication: Keep the Director of Conference & Catering Services informed of any operational matters that require attention.
  • Hotel Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of the hotel's facilities and operational requirements of all departments.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with various administrative tasks as needed.
  • Networking: Attend networking events and become an active member in local organizations/industry associations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Conference & Catering Services.
