Job summary

BETAH is a federal-contractor focused on social equity and sustainable communities. This on-site Conference Manager role is located in downtown Washington, DC, with responsibilities for pre- and post-event planning, vendor management, budgeting, and speaker coordination.

Qualifications

  • BS or CMP and 5 years of event planning experience.

  • Good computer skills in a Windows environment (MS Office - Word, Excel).
  • Skilled at developing and managing budgets.
  • Knows government contracting and Federal Travel Regulations.
  • Effective communicator both in writing and orally.
  • Exceptionally skilled in organizing multiple, simultaneous tasks with a strong attention to detail.
  • Has a professional demeanor and appearance and can maintain utmost composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all logistical requirements for meetings, conferences, and trade show exhibits, including budget development.
  • Verifies and approves vendor invoices.
  • Monitors vendor price justifications, accounts receivable and payable, and ensure conformance to Federal Procurement and Travel Regulations.
  • Recruits and confirms speakers and consultants for client programs.
  • Assists in the design and selection of exhibit booths.
  • Designs layout of booth and arranges for all support services (e.g., set up and tear down, drayage, audiovisual and computer equipment, promotional materials, and staffing).
  • Promotes efficient and effective execution of all conference management tasks.
  • Assist in the operation of the Treasury Dining Room (TDR), which provides all the in-house catering at Treasury. Assistance in the TDR can include collaboration on catering menus, catering design schemes and occasional front-of-house assistance.
  • Able to manage a broad range of events, including meetings, conferences, shows, and exhibits for both government and private industry organizations.

Description

Additional Information:

Position will be located on-site at a federal agency in downtown Washington, DC. To qualify, the candidate must be able to obtain the required security clearance.
