Job summary

Northeast Alternatives is seeking a dedicated Confectioner to join our production team in Kalkaska, MI. You will produce high-quality cannabis edibles daily, following SOPs, CRA guidelines, and safety standards while maintaining clean, organized work areas.

Ideal candidates have experience in culinary or confectionery production, understand food safety, and are reliable with strong attention to detail. Training on CRA requirements will be provided and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21+ and eligible for state cannabis agent registration.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in culinary/confectionary production or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience utilizing culinary/confectionary or manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to understand and consistently follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, production schedules, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to stand or move for an 8 hour shift.
  • Commitment to food safety and GMP standards.
  • ServSafe, HACCP, GMP, food-handler, or comparable food-safety training is a plus; additional required training will be provided upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Executing the production of edibles daily, following the production schedule in line with Supervisors and Management while standing or moving for an 8 hour shift
  • Keeping a clean and organized work environment
  • Ensuring batches of edibles are made correctly and consistently. Maintaining proper piece weights during production
  • Completing and maintaining all sanitary processes and standards
  • Communicating with other shifts or management about daily operation and progress
  • Understand the importance of attendance / reliability
  • Understands and executes work tasks compliantly and within CRA guidelines and company SOPs
  • Cooperation / Commitment on a daily basis
  • Follow all food safety regulations and trainings
  • Inventory control
  • Working safely with equipment and machinery

Job Description:
Confectioners work as part of a collaborative production team dedicated to creating high-quality cannabis edible products while maintaining strict compliance with all state, regulatory, and food safety requirements.

Ideal candidates are team-oriented, dependable, and take pride in producing consistent, high-quality products. Candidates should possess a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and a general understanding of food production or food science.

Confectioners are responsible for following dynamic production schedules, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and established quality and food safety standards throughout the manufacturing process. All products must be produced in accordance with CRA requirements and all other applicable food safety and regulatory standards. Additional food safety training will be required upon acceptance of this position.
