Job summary

Suncore Construction & Materials is seeking a Quality Control Technician to ensure the highest quality in concrete and aggregate materials across the lab, jobsites, and batch plants. You will sample, measure, test, and report results, working closely with Plant Operations to monitor moisture, properties, and batch consistency.

The role requires ACI Field Grade 1 certification (or ability to pass within 6 months) and familiarity with ACI 318, ASTM C94, ISPWC, ITD, and ASTM C33.

Qualifications

• ACI Field Grade 1 certification required (or ability to pass within 6 months). Preferred: ACI Strength Testing Technician.
• Familiarity with ACI 318, ASTM C94, ISPWC, ITD, and ASTM C33.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED; technical education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sample, measure, test, and report on concrete and aggregates at the lab, jobsites, and batch plants.
• Work outdoors in extreme temperatures, occasionally at heights, and possibly during night/weekend shifts.
• Collaborate with Plant Operations to monitor aggregate moistures, concrete properties, and plant consistency.
• Support Sales in resolving quality concerns and educating customers on concrete placement and finishing.
• Input and report data on the QC lab database (LIMS).
• Report issues to the QC manager promptly and adhere to safety procedures.
• Assist the QC manager with in-house training and customer education classes.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the public.
• Work in a team environment and assist with other duties as required.
• Maintain an insurable driving record.
• Service, repair, and calibrate lab and field-testing equipment.
