Job summary

Cemex US is seeking a reliable Laborer/Serviceman to support maintenance and production across our Knoxville plant. This entry-level role emphasizes safety, hands-on tasks, cleanup, and general plant support to keep operations running smoothly.

You will perform physical tasks, assist with maintenance projects, and participate in training sessions, with opportunities to contribute to various maintenance activities and plant outages.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Four years of general plant experience or six years in a cement plant if joining from outside Cemex.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules, wear PPE, and report safety concerns.
• Perform trenching, digging, backfilling, shoveling, sweeping, and cleanup work.
• Assist with maintenance, concrete form building, painting, and housekeeping.
• Lubricate and oil equipment; support maintenance teams and respond to callouts.
• Attend meetings and training; support other classifications and plant outage work.
• Complete tasks assigned by management to support plant operations.
