STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES / VSL is seeking a hardworking field technician/laborer to support post-tensioning and concrete repair projects in New York. You will work closely with foremen to execute daily tasks, travel between sites, and uphold safety standards on active construction sites.

Ideal candidates are physically fit, able to lift up to 50 lbs, comfortable using power-tools, and able to read and speak English.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and speak English.
• Experience in construction field preferred but not required.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to work >40 hours/week and travel between sites.
• Commitment to safety and quality on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside a Foreman/Superintendent to execute daily tasks.
• General concrete repair including demolition, rebar installation, carpentry, and concrete pours/finishing.
• Operate power-tools such as rotary hammers, chipping hammers, and hammer drills.
• Perform post-tension repair and rebar/post-tension installation and stressing.
• Independently traveling between projects.

There are no welding duties in this position.Specific job responsibilities will include: Working alongside a Foreman/Superintendent to execute daily tasksGeneral concrete repair (demolition, rebar installation, carpentry, concrete pours, finishing)Operating power-tools (i.e rotary hammers, chipping hammers, hammer drills, etc.).Post-tension repairRebar/post-tension installation and stressingIndependently traveling between projects.The ideal candidate will be / have:Focused on safety in all situations and environments.Comfortable with the use of standard PPE at construction sites.Team and solution oriented, with a proactive, professional, positive attitude.Experienced construction field technicians / laborersAdvantageous if familiar with concrete repair, formwork and finishing, grouting, and placement/tying of rebar.Advantageous if familiar with the installation and/or stressing of post tensioning systemsFamiliarity with new construction and existing buildingsComfort with working at heightsThe ability to read and speak English.The ability to lift material up to 50lbsGood hand-eye coordination & capable of standing for extended periods of time.Motivated to work more than 40 hours per week.Desire to grow and advance within the company with commensurate salary growthPrior experience in post tensioning is ideal but not required.
