Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Ashland, VA, seeks a production associate to support precast concrete product manufacturing from setup through shipment. You will set up molds, place reinforcing materials, pour and finish concrete, and assist with curing while keeping areas clean.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work overtime as needed. Training and advancement opportunities are available.

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to perform physical work and stay safe.

Responsibilities

• Support production of precast concrete products from setup through shipment.
• Set up and prepare molds/forms (clean, assemble, apply release agents).
• Place reinforcing materials per specifications (rebar, wire mesh, embeds).
• Assist with pouring, leveling, and finishing concrete.
• Support curing process and strip finished products from molds.
• Perform basic finishing (patching, smoothing, marking/stenciling).
• Move and stage materials and finished products for curing or shipment.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.

What You'll Do

What You'll Need

• Ability to perform physical work (lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, bending, and kneeling) for extended periods
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Availability for overtime, including weekends as needed
• Ability to work well on a team to meet production goals
• Basic math and reading skills (measurements, simple drawings)
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Manufacturing, construction, or concrete experience preferred
