Job summary

CMC in Chesapeake, Virginia offers a hands-on opportunity to support the production of concrete pipe and advance in the construction industry. You will set up molds, assist with concrete pouring, and ensure safety procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical work (lifting up to 50 lbs.) for extended periods.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Basic math and reading skills (measurements, simple drawings).
• Manufacturing, construction, or concrete experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support production of concrete pipe from setup through shipment.
• Set up and prepare pipe molds (clean, assemble, apply release agents).
• Place reinforcing materials per specifications.
• Assist with concrete pouring using mixers or automated equipment.
• Keep work area clean and organized.

What You'll Do

• Support production of concrete pipe from setup through shipment
• Set up and prepare pipe molds (clean, assemble, apply release agents)
• Place reinforcing materials (steel cages, wire) per specifications
• Assist with concrete pouring using mixers, buckets, or automated equipment
• Support curing process and strip finished pipe from molds
• Perform basic finishing (patching, smoothing, sealing joints)
• Operate or assist with vibration/compaction equipment
• Move and stage materials and finished products for curing or shipment
• Keep work area clean and organized
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
