Job summary

Kokosing is seeking a Heavy Highway Laborer to join our construction team in Morgantown, West Virginia. You will load, transport, unload, and furnish crew with materials, tools, and supplies while supporting concrete placement and form work on road and utility projects.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel up to 3.5 hours from home (travel expenses available for longer trips).

Qualifications

• Heavy highway laborer experience preferred.
• Experience in the concrete industry is a strong plus.
• Current STP, OSHA 10 Hour, or OSHA 30 Hour training or certification; Kokosing will facilitate training if needed.

Responsibilities

• Load, transport, unload, and furnish crew with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies
• Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary
• Grade checking
• Help place and rake concrete
• Set and remove pavement, barrier, curb, and sidewalk forms
• Perform other routine duties as directed by Foreman
• Safely handle electric and gas-powered hand tools, such as circular saws, drills, and cut-off saws.
• Use tape measure, folding rule, and 4ft level.

• Have reliable personal transportation
• Be willing to work on projects up to 3.5 hours from home
  • For projects 1.5 hours +, compensation for travel expenses are available
• Kokosing is a drug-free workplace

Experience

• 1+ year(s) of experience in associated Heavy Highway Laborer work preferred, but not required
• Experience in the concrete industry is a strong plus
• Current STP, OSHA 10 Hour, or OSHA 30 Hour
• Kokosing will facilitate STP and OHSA training for those lacking the certifications
