Job summary

Kokosing is seeking a reliable Heavy Highway Laborer in Ohio to load/unload materials, prepare sites, and support foremen on civil construction projects.

You should have a HS diploma, transportation, and willingness to travel up to 3.5 hours from home; Kokosing provides training for OSHA certifications as needed and is an equal opportunity employer.

• OSHA 10/30 certification required or Kokosing training offered.

Responsibilities

• Load, transport, unload, and furnish crew with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies
• Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary
• Grade checking
• Help place and rake concrete
• Set and remove pavement, barrier, curb, and sidewalk forms
• Perform other routine duties as directed by Foreman
• Safely handle electric and gas-powered hand tools, such as circular saws, drills, and cut-off saws.
• Use tape measure, folding rule, and 4ft level.

• Load, transport, unload, and furnish crew with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies
• Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary
• Grade checking
• Help place and rake concrete

Qualifications

• Have reliable personal transportation
• Be willing to work on projects up to 3.5 hours from home
• For projects 1.5 hours +, compensation for travel expenses are available
• Kokosing is a drug-free workplace

Experience

• 1+ year(s) of experience in associated Heavy Highway Laborer work preferred, but not required
• Experience in the concrete industry is a strong plus
• Current STP, OSHA 10 Hour, or OSHA 30 Hour
• Kokosing will facilitate STP and OHSA training for those lacking the certifications
