Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is hiring a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Concrete Laboratory Technician to join the Raleigh team. No experience is required as training is provided, and you’ll learn under seasoned professionals to safely perform concrete laboratory tasks.

Responsibilities include performing tests, maintaining safety and QA/QC, labeling and curing samples, monitoring temperature logs, and collecting data. Opportunities to earn certifications grow with you.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Must be willing to obtain and maintain laboratory certifications for concrete.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT laboratory equipment, testing methods, and ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory Activities: Perform laboratory testing on construction materials under supervision.
• Laboratory Safety and Compliance: Follow QA/QC standards and calibrate/maintain equipment as required.
• Concrete Testing: Labeling, curing, temperature logs, and breaking of concrete samples.
• Data Collection: Record results accurately and may assist with administrative duties.

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Concrete Laboratory Technician to join our Raleigh team. No prior experience is needed, as you'll work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn to safely perform a variety of tasks in our concrete laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory Activities: Perform specific tasks associated with conducting laboratory testing on construction materials for various projects under the supervision of senior technicians and other lab staff.


• Laboratory Safety and Compliance: Conduct routine laboratory tests using various methodologies and testing equipment following industry standards and compliance; Assist with tasks to maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness in compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) initiatives to maintain accreditation compliance; Tasks may include calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment following the manufacturer’s schedule and records; Notify supervisor of broken or missing equipment as needed.


• Concrete Testing: Conduct routine laboratory tests for concrete including labeling and setting samples for curing, monitoring temperature logs, and breaking of samples.


• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on test results; Demonstrate competency of testing methods by documenting results accurately; May perform administrative duties as requested.
