Job summary

ECS Southeast, LLP is hiring a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Concrete Laboratory Technician in Raleigh. This entry-level position offers paid training and opportunities to earn certifications while you learn under experienced professionals.

You will perform routine lab testing on construction materials, maintain safety and QA/QC standards, and contribute to data collection and documentation as you grow your skills in concrete testing and ASTM standards.

Qualifications

• No experience required; paid training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Willing to obtain and maintain laboratory certifications for concrete.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to learn CMT laboratory equipment and ASTM standards.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory Activities: perform testing on construction materials under supervision.
• Laboratory Safety and Compliance: follow QA/QC standards and maintain lab cleanliness and calibration records.
• Concrete Testing: handle labeling, curing, temperature logs, and breaking of concrete samples.
• Data Collection: document test results and perform data reduction as needed.

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Concrete Laboratory Technician to join our Raleigh team. We offer opportunities for growth in this role with additional incentives as you earn your certifications. No prior experience is needed, as you'll work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn to safely perform a variety of tasks in our concrete laboratory.

• Laboratory Activities: Perform specific tasks associated with conducting laboratory testing on construction materials for various projects under the supervision of senior technicians and other lab staff.
• Laboratory Safety and Compliance: Conduct routine laboratory tests using various methodologies and testing equipment following industry standards and compliance; Assist with tasks to maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness in compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) initiatives to maintain accreditation compliance; Tasks may include calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment following the manufacturer's schedule and records; Notify supervisor of broken or missing equipment as needed.
• Concrete Testing: Conduct routine laboratory tests for concrete including labeling and setting samples for curing, monitoring temperature logs, and breaking of samples.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on test results; Demonstrate competency of testing methods by documenting results accurately; May perform administrative duties as requested.
