Job summary

Intertek-PSI in Austin, TX is seeking an Entry Level Concrete Lab Technician to join our Building & Construction team. The role focuses on concrete strength testing, fresh concrete testing, and sampling cylinders for lab analysis, with emphasis on safety and quality.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of concrete testing experience, strong documentation habits, and the ability to follow testing procedures under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum one year of concrete strength testing experience required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read and understand work plans and testing procedures.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime, off-shift, and occasional overnight hours as required.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain detailed and accurate testing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform field concrete testing on active construction sites to verify compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Conduct fresh concrete testing, observe concrete placement operations, and collect and sample cylinders for lab testing and quality assurance purposes.
• Accurately document test results, field observations, and project data while maintaining complete records.
• Communicate testing results, project information, and field observations with project managers, contractors, clients, and team members under direct supervision.
