Qualifications

Job description

Stephens & Smith Construction Flatworks Division is currently seeking a full-time dynamic and motivated LFW Supervisor to join our team. The LFW Supervisor has responsibility for all field operations, including the coordination of subcontractor’s and field personnel work. Your expertise must demonstrate professionalism and possess the ability to effectively collaborate with the Operations Director. They will be responsible for overseeing the Job Foreman and all on-site activities related to the project. This includes supervising field construction work performed by subcontractors and ensuring the successful execution of self-performed tasks.

Key Responsibilities (Includes, but not limited to):

Possesses a deep understanding of cost control measures while prioritizing quality. They have the ability to anticipate, troubleshoot, and effectively resolve issues to ensure project success.

Ensure that all documentation, including PM inspections, Incident Report Forms, purchase receipts, invoices, job logbooks, evaluations, time tracking, safety talks, and other paperwork, adheres to Company policy.

Submission of documentation in a timely manner, is accurate, and meets legal requirements.

Collaborate closely and excel in the responsibilities of the Job Foreman, Flatwork Craftsman, and Field Personnel roles.

Possess expertise in form setting techniques, layout proficiency encompassing dimensions and slopes, and familiarity with various curing materials and methods.

Demonstrates skill in carpentry tasks and proficient in sawing or hand-cutting joints while comprehending the criteria for effective jointing.

Possess the ability to accurately grade surfaces, extensive experience in installing wire mesh and rebar, proficient in operating screeds with knowledge of various screeding methods, competent in placing and finishing concrete using hand tools, walk-behind equipment, and riding trowels, and knowledgeable in a wide range of construction materials.

Demonstrate the ability to perform layout tasks utilizing field control and documents, maintaining a commitment to professional housekeeping and vehicle upkeep, and efficiently organizing and managing crews.

Physical Demands

Definitions: Based on 8 to 12 hours per day

Continually 70-100% Regularly 50-70%

Periodically lifting up to 100 pounds.

Regularly exposed to mechanical parts and chemicals. Chemicals will be handled according to Company policy and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Periodically exposed to heights and ability to balance/walk on walls if transferred to Foundations Division.

Continually working with high noise levels and significant vibration associated with Company equipment/tools associated with the position in order to perform the functions of the job.

Regularly works under pressure meeting project schedules and budget guidelines.

Continually utilize specific vision abilities required to perform the essential functions of the job, i.e., close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED is a required

Bachelor's Degree in construction management, ACI Certification and an OSHA 30 Hour Certification is preferred but not a requirement. Capability to acquire OSHA 30-hour certification based on supervisor's request and project-specific requirements.

5 Years of on-the-job/supervision experience

Having the ability to collaborate and work effectively with diverse personalities.

A valid driver's license and an excellent driving record are necessary.

Proficient knowledge of state and federal laws is essential to operate company vehicles and equipment in compliance with DOT guidelines.

Demonstrates proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft applications.

Excelling in a team-oriented environment, providing guidance and support to field personnel to help them achieve their professional goals and contribute to leadership succession.

Capable of working independently and effectively under pressure to meet project schedules and budgetary constraints.
