Job summary

Turner Industries Group, LLC in Port Allen, LA is seeking a Cement Finisher to smooth and finish concrete floors, walls, sidewalks or curbs to specified textures. Non-exempt; Reports to the Foreman; duties follow site procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing surfaces, maintaining tools, and complying with safety requirements; must pass drug/alcohol screening and adhere to company policies. This role offers opportunity to work with a large energy-industry contractor with multiple projects

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in cement finishing
• Basic knowledge of cement finishing hand tools and power tools
• May require NCCER certification
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for finishing by cleaning, leveling, and smoothing them using a variety of tools and techniques; repairing and maintaining concrete surfaces, which includes patching holes, cracks, and other damage; adhere to safety standards and regulations while working with potentially hazardous materials and tools; perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
