Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a skilled concrete finisher to smooth and finish poured floors, walls, sidewalks, and curbs to specified textures using hand or power tools. Minimum one year of related experience and a commitment to safety are required.

On a dynamic construction site, you will collaborate with diverse teams, maintain clean work areas, and ensure quality workmanship while adhering to project schedules.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Strong teamwork orientation and a positive attitude.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.
• Knowledge of equipment and their uses on concrete surfaces.
• Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Active listening and effective on-site communication.

Responsibilities

• Spread concrete to specified depth and workable consistency.
• Level, smooth, and shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete.
• Finish concrete surfaces using power trowel, or hand tools with abrasive stone.
• Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces with grinder or chisel.
• Patch holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound.
• Mold expansion joints and edges.
• Clean work area and restock supplies as necessary.
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and on-site teams.
• All other duties as assigned.
