Job summary

RIPA & Associates in Florida seeks an experienced concrete finisher to join our site team. You will set forms, spread and finish concrete, monitor curing, operate power trowels and screeds, and help maintain job sites.

This hands-on role requires 2+ years of concrete finishing, physical stamina, and the ability to work overtime. We offer medical, vision, dental, and a 401(k) plan, plus paid time off and a referral program.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in concrete finishing.
• Knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in concrete finishing.
• Physical strength and endurance, with the ability to work long hours, including overtime and weekends.
• Reliable personal transportation.
• Ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Ability to handle physical labor, including lifting heavy items and varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Setting forms that hold the concrete in place, ensuring correct depth and pitch.
• Spreading, leveling, and smoothing concrete using come along, shovel, power trowel, power screed, and float.
• Monitoring the effects of weather on curing.
• Safely operating equipment like power vibrator, power trowel, power screed, and drills.
• Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure surfaces.
• Waterproofing, damp-proofing and restoring concrete surfaces.
• Directing the casting of concrete with the truck driver.
• Rubbing concrete with abrasive stone to finish.
• Removing rough/defective spots from the concrete surface with grinder, chisel or hammer.
• Breaking up and repairing old concrete surfaces, patching holes with fresh concrete.
• Participating in routine maintenance and clean-up of job sites.
