Job summary

Hawkins Construction is seeking a skilled Concrete Laborer to join our Columbia area crew. The role focuses on assisting with concrete placement, finishing, and site cleanup to meet project specs and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of concrete or construction experience, 5+ years finishing preferred, and a valid driver's license. CDL preferred. Travel to multiple job sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of concrete or construction experience preferred.
• 5+ years of concrete finishing experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Class A CDL preferred.
• Knowledge of proper concrete finishing techniques, tools, and safety procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew.
• Ability to travel to job sites as assigned.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the crew with all phases of concrete construction, including preparation, demolition, forming, placement, finishing, and cleanup.
• Set forms that hold concrete in place for structures such as sidewalks, curbs, floors, and driveways.
• Place, distribute, level, and finish concrete according to project specifications.
• Perform concrete finishing using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Assist with general labor duties to support efficient job-site operations.
• Use shovels, lutes, rakes, and other hand tools as needed.
• Monitor the effects of weather on concrete curing and take necessary precautions.
• Repair and resurface worn or damaged concrete surfaces.
• Meet daily production goals by understanding and performing various aspects of concrete operations.
• Ensure completed work meets job specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude toward co-workers, customers, and the public.
• Follow all company and job-site safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Foreman.
